ThermAvant Technologies’ Oscillating Heat Pipes Surpass 300,000 Hours of Successful On-Orbit Operation

We’re eager to announce that ThermAvant Tech’s Oscillating Heat Pipes (OHPs) have surpassed 300,000 hours of successful on-orbit operation – with zero reported failures or abnormalities.

This milestone highlights not only the reliability and performance of our OHPs (also called pulsating heat pipes or PHPs), but also the increasing adoption of our OHPs by commercial and U.S. Department of Defense spacecraft customers.

Our OHPs first flew in 2017 aboard the ASETS-II experiment on the X-37B spaceplane. See related press release below:

Since then, ThermAvant’s OHPs have become a crucial component in the thermal control systems of dozens of aereospace platforms, including those of publicly disclosed partners such as Maxar Technologies and MDA Space.  See respective press releases below:

The 300,000+ hours are a testament to our engineering, manufacturing and quality assurance team members who design and deliver leading-edge OHP products that survive and thrive through the harsh conditions of spacecraft launch and operation.

Thank you to our team and our partners for making this milestone possible. We look forward to seeing these hours grow exponentially as we have shipped 4x more units in 2024 than we did at this same time last year!
